JOY
(Just Older Youth)
JOY, Just Older Youth is a deeply meaningful fellowship for Sr. Adults. They meet monthly to love one another and catch up on life. Each meeting is a fresh and inviting experience to help older adults enjoy one another and share common life experiences.
Greetings, Calvary's seniors! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving with your friends and family!
On December 1st, I will officially begin my ministry to you. Please inform me when you learn that one of our senior members is hospitalized, will be facing a serious surgery, or has another kind of trauma in their life such as the loss of a close family member. I plan to visit our members in the nursing homes and those who are shut-ins within the next few weeks as well. I ask that you pray for me and be patient as I try to prioritize my time while meeting your needs. My wife and I have a prayer list which we use daily, and your names are on it!
Please plan to give a worthy Lottie Moon offering during December (over and above your usual tithe, of course) in support of over 5000 Southern Baptist missionaries serving outside North America. More than half their annual support is received through this annual effort.
Let's celebrate Christmas by meeting at the church at 4:00 on December 14 to take the church vans to the Heritage Cafeteria where we have a room reserved. Before our meal, we'll have a Chinese gift exchange! If you've ever done this, you know how much fun it can be! Each person should bring a wrapped gift ($5-$10 limit, please). These should not be white elephants! Men, bring a man's gift; women, bring a woman's gift; or bring something suitable for both. Afterwards, we'll enjoy dinner together. The first 30 people to sign up in the Information Hallway will get to ride the vans, but of course you can meet us there if you prefer. Let's prove that you never get too old to have lots of fun!
